Senior Procurement Officer – Food Manufacturing Full Time

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join our client’s organization in the food production industry. As a Senior Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the procurement process and managing the procurement team for our food production clients.

Working closely with key stakeholders, such as suppliers and internal teams, you will be responsible for strategically sourcing and procuring the necessary materials and services to meet our clients’ production needs. You will also be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and pricing, and maintaining cost-efficiency while ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to optimize the procurement process
• Source and procure materials and services from suppliers while ensuring cost-efficiency and quality
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers
• Manage supplier relationships and conduct performance evaluations
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce procurement costs
• Oversee the procurement team and provide guidance and support when needed

Requirements

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the food production industry
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Proven experience in managing supplier relationships and contracts
• Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Leadership skills and the ability to manage a team

Benefits

Salary: R800k – R650k per annum
