Category Manger – Retail Full Time

RPO Recruitment is seeking a dynamic Category Manager to join our client in the retail sector. This role is crucial in developing and implementing effective category strategies that enhance product assortment and drive sales performance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute category strategies to achieve sales and profitability targets.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats.
• Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment on category objectives.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
• Manage the product lifecycle, including introduction, positioning, and discontinuation of products.
• Monitor category performance and adjust strategies as needed to maximize results.
• Provide regular updates and presentations to senior management on category performance and initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in category management or merchandising within the retail sector.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of retail trends and consumer behavior.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
