Job Title: Production Manager

Location: Durban, KwaZulu Natal

A leading manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Production Manager with strong experience in production line and shift management, manufacturing process optimization, and leadership and team supervision to join their team in Durban, KawZulu Natal. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven and highly experienced professional to drive production efficiency by leading large teams , implementing effective operational strategies, and ensuring continuous improvement processes. Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily shift operations to ensure smooth workflow and optimal output.
• Lead and manage large teams, providing training, coaching, and mentorship.
• Implement and expand continuous improvement strategies such as Lean Manufacturing and WCM.
• Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations (OHSACT, HACCP, GMP).
• Manage team performance and drive performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure efficient use of resources including staff, equipment, and materials.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues as they arise.
• Maintain quality control standards across all processes.
• Chair production meetings and participate in management reviews.
• Manage highly unionized workforces effectively.

Requirements:

• Over 10 years of experience in the manufacturing, preferably in glass, and production industry, including 5 years in supervisory and management roles.
• Proven ability to lead large teams, improve production efficiency, and implement effective operational strategies.
• Strong track record in quality assurance, team development, and continuous improvement processes such as lean manufacturing and WCM.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills with a focus on achieving organizational goals.
• Experience with SAP, JDE, or similar.
• Willingness to relocate.
