RPO Recruitment’s client, a renowned fashion retail company, is looking for a talented and experienced Womenswear Designer to join their team. As a Womenswear Designer, you will be responsible for creating stylish and innovative designs for women’s clothing, staying ahead of fashion trends and meeting the needs of the target market.
In this role, you will collaborate with a team of designers, pattern makers, and merchandisers to develop design concepts, sketches, and prototypes. You will have the opportunity to showcase your creativity and design skills, creating fashion-forward collections that align with the brand’s aesthetic and market demands.
Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze current fashion trends and consumer preferences for women’s clothing
- Create new and innovative designs for women’s clothing, including garments, accessories, and prints
- Develop sketches, patterns, and prototypes based on design concepts
- Select appropriate fabrics, trims, and colors for each design
- Collaborate with pattern makers and garment technologists to ensure designs are translated into production-ready garments
- Stay updated on industry trends, fashion shows, and trade fairs
- Work closely with merchandisers and buyers to meet market demands and customer expectations
- Present design concepts and prototypes to internal stakeholders for feedback and approval
- Manage the entire design process, from conceptualization to final product, ensuring quality and timely delivery
- Conduct fittings and adjustments to ensure optimal fit and functionality of designs
- Maintain accurate records of design specifications, patterns, and materials
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Womenswear Designer in the fashion industry
- Strong design portfolio demonstrating creativity and ability to interpret fashion trends
- In-depth knowledge of womenswear fashion trends, fabrics, and construction techniques
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Excellent sketching and illustration skills
- Strong understanding of garment construction and fit
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field
