Summary:

RPO Recruitment’s client, in the packaging industry, are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Maintenance Manager to join their packaging company in Cape Town. The successful candidate will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure that all machinery and equipment are working efficiently and effectively to meet production targets.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Maintenance Manager in planning and executing preventative maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment
• Conduct regular inspections of machinery to identify and rectify any issues
• Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repair projects
• Manage and supervise a team of maintenance technicians
• Monitor inventory of spare parts and tools to ensure availability
• Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures to improve efficiency and reduce downtime

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance management within a packaging or manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with other departments
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Strong communication and organizational skills
