Utilities Technician – Electrical Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client is looking for an experienced Utilities Technician (Electrical) to join their team of professionals in Durban, KZN. 

Responsibilities

• Maintenance coordination of the factory electrical reticulation system from 11Kv down to 220V (substations, site fire alarm systems, essential service network, UPS systems, standby genset & battery bays)
• Facilitating & executing site utilities-related projects (electrical upgrades)
• Compliance with statutory requirements to ensure that the site electrical reticulation system is in operation in accordance with the OHSAct and SANS 10142
• Driving cost reduction initiatives
• Ensure the site CCTV camera system is well maintained

Requirements

• Wireman’s license
• Electrical trade with a minimum of 5 years of sound working experience within site utilities
• N.Diploma or S4 in Electrical Engineering
• Strong knowledge & experience on 11Kv switchgear, essential service networks, fire alarm systems & UPS system
• Asset care experience is mandatory
• Intermediate to advanced Excel
• Good understanding of OHS Act
• Prepared to work weekends & call outs (when required)
• A sense of urgency
• Proficient in SAP or Coupa (maintenance scheduling & order placing)
• Strong planning and execution skills (proven track record)
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (assertive and forthright)
• Hands-on individual
• Self-efficient
• Actively seeks solutions to the problem
• An ability to get results through a team
