RPO Recruitment is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team based in Epping, Cape Town. This is an exciting permanent opportunity for a dedicated engineering professional to apply technical expertise in designing, maintaining, and improving industrial machinery within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Execute detailed design of industrial machines, sub-components, sheet metal, weldments, and large-scale assemblies.
Generate accurate detailed drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Prepare clear manufacturing and assembly instructions.
Conduct quality assurance on mechanical work and compile technical failure/task reports.
Ensure inspection and preventative maintenance tasks are scheduled and documented in the group CMMS.
Liaise with cross-functional teams to resolve mechanical failures and implement robust solutions.
Drive preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes.
BSc/B.Eng./B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in a maintenance or production environment.
Competency in computer-aided engineering design and drawing software.
Practical, hands-on experience in a manufacturing or maintenance setting.
Familiarity with hydraulic system design and maintenance (advantageous).
Understanding of electrical control systems (advantageous).
Proven project and team leadership experience.
Fully computer literate (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong administrative skills and CMMS experience.
Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Valid driver’s license.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
