Senior Automation Electronics Technician Full Time

RPO’s client is seeking a Senior Automation Electronics Technician to repair, install, service, and update electronic equipment and servo motors for an electrical automation business based in Pinetown. The successful candidate will perform duties in both the office and factories, interpret electrical drawings, and support technical operations with precision and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

• Perform fault finding and board-level repairs on variable speed drives.
• Test and repair encoders on servo motors.
• Respond to site breakdowns and conduct fault finding on servo drives.
• Install and commission variable speed drives on-site.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and update time sheets in the job management system.
• Create quotations for repairs by sourcing parts and estimating labor.
• Detect electrical problems with drives and offer suitable repair solutions.
• Manage assigned jobs efficiently, ensuring smooth workflow in the company’s management system.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in an electronics technician role with a strong focus on variable speed drives.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical principles and electronic signals.
• Demonstrated ability to fault find using electrical drawings.
• Hands-on experience with variable speed drives and servo motors.
• Proficiency in English and MS Office.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a customer service mindset.
• Relevant qualifications in electronics and at least 5 years of work experience in the electronics industry.
