Job Title: Demand Planner

RPO Recruitment’s client are seeking a skilled and experienced Demand Planner to join their team at a leading food manufacturing company based in Cape Town. The Demand Planner will be responsible for analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and other factors to accurately predict and forecast future customer demand for our products. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient production planning and inventory management to meet customer needs and minimize waste.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and customer forecasts to make accurate demand predictions
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to gather relevant information for demand forecasting
• Develop and maintain a demand forecast model using statistical data analysis techniques
• Monitor and adjust the demand forecast based on changing market conditions, promotions, and other factors
• Work closely with supply chain and production teams to ensure production schedules align with demand forecasts
• Communicate forecast updates and potential issues to relevant stakeholders
• Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for replenishment and inventory management
• Identify and implement process improvements to optimize demand planning efficiency and accuracy
• Stay informed about industry trends, customer preferences, and market dynamics to enhance demand forecasting accuracy

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, finance, or related field
• Proven experience as a Demand Planner in the food manufacturing industry
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to interpret complex data
• Proficiency in demand planning software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Knowledge of ERP systems and supply chain management principles
• Certification in supply chain management or forecasting (e.g. CPIM) is a plus
