RPO Recruitment’s client is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join their team in Klapmuts, Western Cape. This role is ideal for someone passionate about maintaining exceptional food safety and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment. It requires hands-on leadership, regulatory compliance expertise, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Quality Assurance function in a food manufacturing environment
Implement, manage, and audit food safety and quality systems (FSSC 22000, ISO 22000)
Ensure compliance with local and international food safety legislation and regulatory requirements
Manage and prepare for external audits (customer, third-party, regulatory)
Promote continuous improvement initiatives across the QA function
Conduct root cause analyses and implement sustainable corrective actions
Champion adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP principles, and risk management protocols
Foster a high-performance team culture with a focus on collaboration, efficiency, and excellence
Requirements:
Tertiary Qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline (essential)
Additional certification in Food Safety Management Systems (e.g. FSSC 22000, ISO 22000)
Minimum 5 years of QA experience in a food manufacturing environment, including 2+ years in a management or supervisory role
Proven experience managing external audits and maintaining QA systems
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, GMP, HACCP, and risk management
High attention to detail with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
