Merchandise Planner Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client is looking for a Merchandise Lead to join their team in Maitland, Cape Town. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, procuring, and managing merchandise from inception to warehouse. You will drive the success of the merchandise strategy, ensuring profitability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Exceed financial targets, focus on stock turn, in stock levels, Pareto management, and pricing.
• Conduct post-season analysis and contribute to strategic planning, including assortment and size curve development.
• Forecast, budget, and reforecast to meet sales targets and maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Coordinate with suppliers, supply chain, warehouse, IT, marketing, and sales for efficient merchandise flow.
• Guide team in accurate order placement and tracking for timely delivery to distribution centers.
• Ensure supplier deadlines and shipment dates align with cash flow management.
• Evaluate stock levels, sales history, and aged inventory to improve inventory health.
• Mentor administrative team, fostering growth and skill development.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in merchandise/product from a wholesale background.
• In-depth understanding of importing merchandising.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Sage Evolution or similar systems is an advantage.
