Job Title: Toolmaker
Location: Johannesburg
RPO Recruitment are seeking a skilled and experienced Toolmaker to join our client’s team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, manufacturing, and maintaining precision tools, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in the production of various products.
Responsibilities:
– Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to design and manufacture tools and tooling components
– Operate manual and CNC machinery such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM equipment
– Fabricate prototypes and tooling components using various materials such as metals, alloys, and plastics
– Conduct quality control checks to ensure tools meet specifications and tolerances
– Troubleshoot and repair tools as needed
– Collaborate with engineers and production staff to improve tooling designs and processes
Requirements:
– Certified Toolmaker
– Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Toolmaker in a manufacturing environment
– Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring instruments
– Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
– Skilled in operating manual and CNC machinery
– Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in toolmaking
