Strata Control Officer: Open Cast Full Time

A Safety-Driven mining company based in the Northern Cape has an exciting opportunity for a Strata Control Officer: Open Cast. The successful candidate will be responsible to take observations and measurements and to collect data about the rock conditions/rock mechanics of the workplace to enable interpretation and recommendations to the mining department.

• Mining and MRM business processes, Mine Health System Act, Explosives Act (other legal), Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Skills, National Water Act (other legal)
• Functional understanding of IWULA Waste Management and

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• National Certificate (NQF Level 3) – Strata Control Certificate (Accredited by Chamber of Mines)
• Blasting Certificate / Rock breaking MQA equivalent qualification
• Degree / B. Tech Degree
• 3 – 5 years Strata Control experience in a mining environment
