SHEQ Manager – Mining Industry – R1.7Mil – R1.5Mil Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client is a great mining company in Mpumalanga, which is seeking the expertise of a SHEQ Manager to join their team in Middelburg, Mpumalanga.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and schedule Safety project interventions and conduct continuous needs analysis in Safety related methodologies.
• Identify and develop new Safety related projects by evaluating data to provide information to Management for the enhancement Safety performance of the group.
• Monitor and report on trends and identify leading indicators.
• Investigate best practices within the Mining industry and implement best practices where applicable with regard to Safety and compiling reports.
• Measure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act and Impala policies and procedures to manage risk (safety) in the workplace in accordance with the above Acts.
• To facilitate and manage peer reviews on fatal risk exposure and measure remedial actions to reduce serious incidents

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• National Diploma in Safety Management
• Blasting Certificate (underground and opencast) /Engineering Trade Certificate
• 12 years of experience in an underground and opencast mining environment
• Minimum 5 years of experience at a Chief Safety Officer level
