Shaft Surveyor Full Time

A High-Performance mine based in the Limpopo Province has an exciting opportunity for a Shaft Surveyor. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective coordination and control of all survey activities at the shaft. If this sounds like you, apply now!

Responsibilities:

• It is expected from the incumbent to provide the shaft with specialist underground and surface survey related services and expertise
• Provide a suitable service to the shaft in terms of implementing and maintaining sufficient survey networks
• Responsible for the effective maintenance of existing ore metal accounting system
• Ensure that an effective statistical database is maintained, identity trends, and provide specialist recommendations to rectify any negative trends
• Responsible for the short term planning function related to the requirements to sustain production performance
• Attending monthly pre planning and accurately minute issues discussed to ensure compliance to Corporate Governance
• Ensure monthly risk assessments are conducted in order to pro actively identify risks
• This position carries a legal appointment in terms of Section 7 4 Minerals Act Regulation 2 12 7 and Mine Health and Safety Regulation 17 2
• The role requires the incumbent to have close interaction and collaboration with other Technical Services team members, Mining Operations and other departments in support of optimizing the overall business

Requirements:

• Mine Survey Certificate of competence
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an underground environment within the survey field, of which at least 2 years must be practical post qualification experience
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the following software systems
• GMSI pegs
• MRM suite
• MS Office package
• Business Objects
• CADS mine, Micro Station or Auto Cad experience would be an advantage
