SHEQ Specialist – Port Elizabeth Full Time

RPO Recruitment is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced SHEQ Specialist to join our client’s team in Port Elizabeth. This is an exciting opportunity for a compliance-driven professional to play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing safety, health, environmental, and quality standards within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:

• Ensure company compliance with OHS Act, NEMA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections, internal audits, and risk assessments.
• Facilitate incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Lead and coordinate SHEQ training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
• Monitor SHEQ performance indicators and submit monthly reports.
• Maintain and improve the Integrated SHEQ Management System.
• Assist with external audits and ensure audit readiness at all times.
• Promote a strong safety-first culture throughout the organization.

Requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12.
• National Diploma or Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• SAMTRAC / NEBOSH certification highly advantageous.
• ISO 45001, 14001 & 9001 internal auditor qualification required.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a SHEQ role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of South African SHEQ legislation and compliance standards.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
