RPO Recruitment’s client is looking for a Reefer Monitoring Agent to join their team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, installing, testing, and monitoring refrigerated containers used for exporting high-value perishable products.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare refrigerated containers with specialized atmosphere control systems.
- Coordinate with container depots and logistics providers to ensure export container readiness.
- Conduct inspections, install devices, perform leak tests, and manage flushing/gassing processes.
- Actively monitor and observe newly installed devices on containers.
- Process and complete work orders, job cards, and installation reports.
- Order equipment supplies and maintain stock levels of parts.
- Perform technical repairs, reworks, and warranty repairs on shipping containers at designated locations.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent; technical certifications in refrigeration or related fields are advantageous.
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in reefer monitoring, with at least 1 year in a technical role servicing or repairing refrigerated containers.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical wiring, and cooling unit troubleshooting.
- Understanding of CA technology systems.
- Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and planning skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy with basic MS Office proficiency.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors and after hours when required.
