Professional QS – Consulting Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, a leading QS consulting firm in KwaZulu-Natal is currently looking to hire a qualified and experienced Professional QS who can join their successful team in Durban as soon as possible and contribute positively towards the success of their projects.  

Responsibilities:

• Cost plans/elemental estimates from architectural drawings
• Overall budget preparation incorporating services engineering budgets
• Measurement of BOQ’s for principal and subcontract tender documentation including the drafting of the contract conditions and putting together tender preliminaries
• Cost and budget control of the principal and subcontracts throughout the project including monthly valuation, project payment summaries, monthly cost reporting
• Measuring and negotiating final accounts with principal contractors and subcontractors

Requirements:

• BSc (Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the commercial sector
• Pr QS registration with SACQSP or RICS
• Commercial private sector experience essential (Hospitality, Offices, Retail, Multi-storey Residential projects)
• Proficiency in WinQS and DimX
• Understanding of how to implement escalation within the industry
• Basic knowledge of how a financial feasibility is structured
• Understanding of the JBCC construction contract and how to implement it
• Understanding of how to carry out contract value engineering
• Excellent Emotional Intelligence
