Professional Civil Engineer/Technologist – Consulting Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, a leading consulting engineering firm in Gauteng is seeking an experienced Professional Civil Engineer or Civil Engineering Technologist to join their team in Johannesburg.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical competency, proven design ability, and experience managing civil infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.

Responsibilities:

• Lead civil engineering projects as Project Lead or Senior Design Engineer
• Assist clients with project inception, funding applications, and early planning
• Develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions to project challenges
• Prepare, review, and refine technical and project reports
• Manage data collection and project documentation
• Coordinate drafting, detailing, and design teams
• Apply ISO 9001 quality standards
• Produce detailed civil infrastructure designs and review team drawings
• Conduct internal and external design reviews
• Prepare man-hour estimates and manage project budgets and finances
• Maintain client satisfaction and manage project close-out documentation
• Oversee full project management processes
• Prepare tender documents, specifications, and performance criteria
• Administer and monitor construction contracts
• Support business development, client engagement, and identifying new opportunities

Requirements:

• BTech/BSc/BEng degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Registration with ECSA (Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng)
• 8–12 years of hands-on civil engineering experience
• Strong background in the design of municipal civil services, including roads, stormwater, sewer, and water systems
• Experience in project management and contract administration
• Proficiency in relevant design software
