Job Title: Product Developer
Location: Benoni, Gauteng

RPO Recruitment’s client are seeking a skilled and innovative Product Developer to join our team at their food manufacturing facility in Benoni. As a Product Developer, you will be responsible for conceiving, developing, and launching new food products that meet the demands of our customers and align with the company’s overall business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and analyze market trends and consumer preferences to identify opportunities for new product development
• Conceptualize and develop new food products from ideation to launch, collaborating with cross-functional teams such as marketing, production, and quality assurance
• Conduct sensory evaluations, taste tests, and product trials to ensure that new products meet quality standards and align with consumer preferences
• Develop and manage product specifications, formulations, and recipes, ensuring consistency and accuracy in production
• Work closely with suppliers, vendors, and R&D partners to source ingredients, materials, and technologies for new product development
• Keep abreast of industry developments, regulatory requirements, and best practices in food product development

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in product development within the food manufacturing industry
• Strong technical knowledge of food ingredients, processing techniques, and formulation principles
• Demonstrated ability to conduct product trials, sensory evaluations, and quality assurance testing
• Proficiency in using software tools such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, and product development software
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills
