Process Engineer Full Time

RPO Recruitment is seeking a Process Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team in Observatory, Cape Town. Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous improvement of production efficiency through mechanical (Jigs & Fixtures), automation, and process enhancements.
• Document and time all production steps for optimization and efficiency tracking.
• Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) projects, serving as the bridge between product development and production teams.
• Conduct research to develop new and improved manufacturing processes.
• Establish and implement safety procedures for handling hazardous materials and chemicals.
• Develop methods for separating components of gases and liquids or generating electrical currents.
• Design and plan equipment layout for optimal workflow.
• Conduct tests and monitor process performance throughout production.
• Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing process issues.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Estimate production costs and implement cost-saving strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial).
• 3+ years of experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of process optimization, lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in process analysis, process modeling, statistical analysis, and simulation software.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve complex process issues.
• Working knowledge of process safety, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Value Stream Mapping (VSM) analysis.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

• Experience with process improvement tools such as Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.
• LEAN / Six Sigma Certification.
• Experience with process automation and control systems.
• Knowledge of process simulation software and CAD tools.
