RPO Recruitment’s client, in the Logistics and Courier industry, are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of their logistics department in Centurion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics operations and management, with a proven track record of successfully leading a team and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of logistics services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the logistics department, including scheduling, dispatching, tracking shipments, and ensuring on-time delivery
• Develop and implement procedures and policies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
• Manage a team of logistics coordinators, drivers, and warehouse staff, providing leadership, training, and support as needed
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and drive operational excellence
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of logistics activities
• Maintain relationships with transportation providers and negotiate contracts to ensure the best rates and service levels

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics operations management, preferably in the transportation or warehousing industry
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve goals and objectives
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational optimization
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Proficiency in logistics software and systems, such as TMS and WMS, as well as Microsoft Office suite
