Junior Mechanic – Cape Town Full Time

RPO Recruitment is currently seeking a Junior Mechanic to join our client’s dynamic team in Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically inclined and motivated individual looking to grow their skills in vehicle maintenance and repair within a reputable motor industry environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues in a variety of vehicles
• Perform basic maintenance services such as oil changes, brake checks, and tyre rotations
• Support routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and roadworthiness
• Use diagnostic tools and software to detect faults and assist in repair planning
• Maintain accurate documentation of services and repairs
• Comply with all health and safety protocols in the workshop
• Uphold a “fix right the first time” standard in all work
• Communicate effectively with team members and support customer service where required

Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
• A relevant mechanical or motor trade qualification (or currently studying towards one)
• 1–2 years of experience in a similar workshop environment will be advantageous
• Basic understanding of vehicle systems (mechanical, electrical, and diagnostics)
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow technical skill set
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
• A strong work ethic and commitment to quality and safety
