Junior Food Technologist Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, in the food manufacturing industry, is currently seeking for a Junior Food Technologist, to join their team in Cape Town.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting senior food technologists in developing new products and improving existing products.
• Conducting quality control checks on raw materials, production processes, and finished products.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as production, quality assurance, and marketing to ensure product consistency and compliance with food safety regulations.
• Assisting with the development of product specifications and documentation.
• Conducting research on new food trends, ingredients, and technologies to contribute to product innovation.
• Assisting in the troubleshooting of production issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Conducting sensory evaluations and consumer testing to gather feedback on product acceptability.
• Maintaining accurate records of all testing and research activities.
• Participating in supplier audits and visits to ensure the quality of raw materials.
• Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in food technology.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or related field.
• Previous internship or work experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills in food technology.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
