RPO Recruitment is actively seeking a talented Automation Technician to join our client’s team in New Germany, KZN. This role is perfect for an individual with a strong background in industrial automation who thrives on solving complex problems and ensuring optimal equipment performance.
Responsibilities
- Attend to automation and instrumentation breakdowns in a timely manner
- Install, commission, and maintain automation systems on mining or industrial equipment
- Diagnose and repair PLC, VSD, and electrical control systems
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency
- Program and optimize control systems for operational improvements
- Assist customers with technical advice and provide ongoing support
- Collaborate with the project team on new installations and upgrades
Requirements
- Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field
- Proven experience as an Automation Technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, VSDs, and industrial automation systems
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and wiring schematics
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
