Technical Metallurgist Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client is currently seeking a talented and experienced Technical Metallurgist to join their team. As a Technical Metallurgist, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the metallurgical plant. This includes implementing and maintaining technical standards, conducting process optimization, and providing ongoing technical support to the production team. Responsibilities

• Assist in ensuring that Safety, health and environment are complied with in the plant
• Implementation of the technical standards and procedures in the operations
• Ensure that technical standards are met and maintained in the operations
• Audit compliance to “specifications/parameters” and liaise with plant personnel
• Identify ongoing potential areas for plant process improvement
• Ongoing technical support to plant production team to achieve operational goals
• Provide detailed analyses of process control/plant performance relationships
• Co-ordinate metal accounting, accuracy, reporting, and metal monitoring
• Monitor production performance metrics and analyse data to identify trends and opportunity for process optimization.
• Conduct research and analysis to identify areas of improvement in production processes and develop solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Assist to ensure a stable and sustainable plant performance within the metallurgical plant

Requirements

• B Eng. Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering or similar
• Post graduate qualification will be advantageous
• 5 years or more extensive post qualification experience in technical management of extractive metallurgy of gold processes or development projects
• Metallurgical process and plant operating skills;
• Strong supervisory and leadership qualities;
• Strong technical problem-solving skills;
• Planning, coordination and prioritizing skills;
• Emergency response and crisis management;
• Computer literacy;
• Report writing skills;
• Good written and verbal communication to interact with stakeholders
• Experience with metallurgical smelting of gold and AMD will be advantageous
• Valid driving license code B or EB
