Site Foreman/Construction Manager – Construction Industry Contract

RPO Recruitment’s client, a reputable construction firm with a strong track record in delivering high-quality construction projects in Cape Town is currently expanding their team and looking to appoint an experienced Site Foreman or Construction Manager to lead activities on site. 

This position is offered as a limited duration contract, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities, including concrete works, formwork, reinforcement, and setting out
• Interpret and implement construction drawings and specifications
• Plan, schedule, and monitor construction activities using MS Projects
• Conduct setting out and ensure accuracy in alignment, levels, and dimensions
• Manage site resources, including labour, plant, and materials
• Oversee and maintain site administration, including daily reports, progress updates, timesheets, and quality control documentation
• Liaise effectively with Clients, Architects, Engineers, Subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution
• Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, safety regulations, and budget requirements
• Resolve technical and site-related issues proactively

Requirements:

• BTech in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
• Minimum of 5 years’ site experience, particularly in concrete construction, formwork, and reinforcement
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings accurately
• Proficiency in MS Projects or similar project scheduling tools
• Sound knowledge of setting out procedures and construction tolerances
• Experience in handling site administration and reporting responsibilities
• Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work with professional teams and subcontractors
• Valid driver’s license and own transport preferred
