A reputable accounting firm is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Consultant / Accountant to join their team in Umhlanga. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accounting professional with strong tax and accounting experience to manage a client portfolio and provide comprehensive accounting, tax compliance and advisory services.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the full accounting and tax function for a portfolio of clients.
• Perform full accounting functions up to trial balance and prepare monthly management reports.
• Draft annual financial statements for companies, trusts and sole proprietors using CaseWare.
• Prepare and submit income tax returns for individuals and companies, as well as VAT returns for sole proprietors, companies and trusts.
• Provide tax and accounting advice to clients, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
• Manage SARS correspondence, including objections and suspension of debt applications through e-Filing.
• Utilise Pastel and CaseWare to complete accounting and tax-related duties.
• Maintain professional client relationships, meet strict deadlines and travel to client sites when required.
Requirements:
• Accounting Degree or Higher Diploma – non-negotiable.
• Completed Articles.
• 3–5 years’ experience within an accounting firm or accounting environment.
• Professional affiliation with SAICA, SAIPA, ACCA, CIMA or SAIBA preferred.
• Practical working experience and knowledge of Pastel and CaseWare essential.
• Strong knowledge of SARS e-Filing and tax compliance processes.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple client portfolios and meet deadlines.
• Professional communication and client relationship management skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle essential.
• Must be willing to travel to clients when required.
