Senior Site Agent | Building Construction Full Time

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Site Agent to join its Cape Town team on a permanent basis. This opportunity is suited to a results-driven construction professional with extensive experience managing large-scale building projects from inception through to successful completion.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong client relationships and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of large and complex building construction projects.
• Manage all site operations, ensuring programme, quality, cost, and safety objectives are achieved.
• Oversee contract administration and ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Lead negotiations relating to contract variations, claims, and dispute resolution.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.
• Ensure construction activities comply with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
• Identify and resolve complex technical and construction-related challenges.
• Implement innovative construction methods to improve project efficiency and quality.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
• Lead site resource planning and allocation.
• Ensure compliance with SHEQ policies, legislation, and company procedures.
• Develop and implement project-specific safety management plans.
• Conduct site inspections and proactively manage project risks.
• Mentor and lead site personnel, promoting continuous improvement and professional development.
• Prepare progress reports and communicate project performance to senior management.

Minimum Requirements

• BSc or BEng in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience within the building construction industry.
• Proven experience managing large and complex construction projects.
• Strong contract administration and commercial management experience.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Strong understanding of South African construction legislation, contractual frameworks, and health and safety requirements.

Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in Cape Town, as this is a Cape Town-based position.
