Senior QS (Mining) – PQS Industry Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s dynamic consulting team, in Pretoria, specializing in mining projects. This leadership role offers the opportunity to work on challenging and diverse mining ventures while managing and mentoring a team of intermediate and junior quantity surveyors.

Due to specific client requirements and project nature, preference will be given to candidates who completed their studies at the University of the Free State (Bloemfontein) or University of Pretoria.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of intermediate and junior quantity surveyors across multiple mining projects
• Oversee cost management and commercial aspects of mining construction and infrastructure projects
• Provide expert quantity surveying services throughout project lifecycles
• Ensure delivery of high-quality outputs with exceptional attention to detail
• Manage resources effectively to meet project deadlines and budget requirements
• Mentor and develop team members to enhance their professional capabilities
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders

Qualifications & Registration

• BSc Honours degree in Quantity Surveying
• Professional registration with SACQSP (Pr.QS) or RICS
• Graduates from University of the Free State (Bloemfontein) or University of Pretoria preferred

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 8 years post-graduation experience in quantity surveying
• Proven experience specifically within the mining sector
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Exceptional quality standards and attention to detail

Technical Proficiency

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Expert-level knowledge and experience in:
• MS Project
• WinQS
• DimX
