Senior Project Planner/Programmer – Construction Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, renowned and well established civil and building contractor in South Africa is currently seeking to employ a Construction Planner/Programmer who can join their team in George in the Western Cape.  The successful candidate will be responsible for developing effective project schedules according to the relevant contracts and integrate the various business functions and construction activities to facilitate successful project completion on time.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the project schedule, according to completion dates and financial baseline, by defining and sequencing activities, estimate activity resources and duration; and develop schedule processes
• Assess progress and analyse the impact of forecast changes on schedule and financial baseline to identify possible risks as early as possible
• Perform critical path analysis
• Control the schedule and financial baseline to reflect any amendments
• Compile required reports to confirm the project cost, schedule variance and forecasts
• Recommend and implement modifications to increase efficiency and maintain project milestones
• Obtain input from construction team to compile resource allocation plans
• In collaboration with the construction team, identify and analyse possible risks that may negatively impact project schedules and take mitigating action
• Schedule cashflow integration – Link BoQ Estimate with planning program in CCS
• Compile and update of cashflow

Requirements:

• BSc degree in Construction Management or similar qualification
• Relevant professional registration or certification will be advantageous
• Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in construction
• Proven site experience as well as experience in planning and scheduling
• In-depth CCS experience and knowledge
• Good communication and people skills
• Results driven
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
