Senior Professional Electrical Engineer – Building Services Part Time

Part-Time | 10-Month Contract

A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Professional Electrical Engineer to provide specialist electrical engineering expertise across real estate and facilities infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a professionally registered engineer with strong design, project, and facilities maintenance experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical design, technical specifications, project support, condition assessments, procurement evaluations, and commissioning across a diverse portfolio of commercial, residential, and substation facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering design for real estate and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare detailed scopes of work, technical specifications, and technical evaluation criteria.
• Develop concept designs, engineering layouts, and project drawings.
• Conduct electrical condition assessments on:
• Commercial buildings
• Residential buildings
• Electrical substations
• Compile engineering reports and project documentation.
• Perform procurement evaluations and prepare technical evaluation reports.
• Provide project management support throughout project execution.
• Oversee construction activities, testing, and commissioning.
• Review Certificates of Compliance (COCs) where required.
• Support facilities maintenance teams with technical assessments and engineering evaluations.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical supervision as required.
• Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and project requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• BSc Eng. or BTech Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional registration as Pr Eng with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within an electrical engineering environment.
• Strong experience in electrical design, project engineering, and facilities maintenance.
• Excellent knowledge of electrical infrastructure and building services.
