Revit Draughtsperson / BIM Modeller – Consulting Industry Full Time NEW

A leading Electrical Engineering Consultancy is seeking an experienced Revit Draughtsperson / BIM Modeller to join its Cape Town office.

The Cape Town team focuses primarily on Building Services and Data Centre projects, offering the successful candidate an opportunity to work on technically complex and exciting projects within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate Revit models for engineering projects.
• Produce detailed technical drawings and documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Assist engineers with the development and coordination of building services designs.
• Develop coordinated BIM models in accordance with project requirements.
• Interpret engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and project information.
• Coordinate models and drawings with other MEP disciplines.
• Update models and drawings in line with design changes and project requirements.
• Ensure drawings and models are accurate, coordinated, and issued according to project deadlines.
• Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other members of the project team.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Draughting, Engineering, BIM, or a related field will be advantageous.
• Approximately 5 years’ experience working with Revit.
• Strong practical Revit and AutoCAD experience.
• Electrical building services experience is highly preferred.
• Candidates with experience in other MEP services will also be considered.
• Experience within a consulting engineering environment will be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of technical drawings and building services documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple project requirements.
• Own reliable transport.
• Available to start as soon as possible.

Software

• Revit – strong experience required
• AutoCAD – strong experience required
• Experience with BIM coordination and other relevant MEP software will be advantageous.

The ideal candidate will have a strong Revit and AutoCAD background, with around 5 years’ Revit experience and preferably a background in electrical building services.

Candidates with strong Revit experience in other MEP disciplines will also be considered, provided they have the technical ability and understanding required to work within a multidisciplinary building services environment.
