Resident Engineer (Wind Farm) – Consulting Industry Contract

RPO Recruitment’s client, a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm in South Africa is currently looking to hire a qualified Resident Engineer who can join their successful team on one of their wind farm projects in the Western Cape as soon as possible.  The successful candidate will be appointed on a limited duration contract of a maximum of 6 months.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the organisation, coordination and on-site supervision of the execution of civil and structural works projects to ensure compliance to the design
• Representing the Engineer in the EPC
• Liaise with Owners Engineer on behalf of and part of EPC team
• Ensure that the projects are executed in accordance with approved designs and specifications related to the works under construction
• Advisory role in technical issues depending on the needs of the client
• Contract Administration
• Quality/Safety Management
• Relationship Management

Requirements:

• BSc/BEng or BTech degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional registration with ECSA
• Minimum of 8 years of Provincial Roads experience, including structures (stormwater, retaining walls, bridges, etc.)
• Sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of disciplines such as civil, roads, and earthworks
• Experience in wind tower foundations advantageous
• Project management and leadership skills
