Quantity Surveyor – Building Construction Full Time NEW

A reputable building contractor, with over 50 years of industry experience, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team based in Paarl. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a respected construction company delivering commercial building projects ranging in value from R20 million to R200 million.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple construction projects, ensuring effective cost control, contract administration, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and project budgets.
• Manage all pre- and post-contract quantity surveying functions.
• Prepare and evaluate subcontractor enquiries and appointments.
• Measure, value, and certify work completed.
• Prepare monthly cost reports and financial forecasts.
• Manage project budgets and monitor commercial performance.
• Prepare and assess variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Assist with procurement of subcontractors and materials.
• Ensure accurate cost control throughout project execution.
• Liaise with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Monitor project expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain accurate commercial records using CCS Candy software.
• Ensure projects are completed within approved budgets and commercial objectives.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying from a recognised University or University of Technology.
• Approximately 5–10 years’ experience within the building construction industry.
• Proven experience on commercial building projects.
• Experience managing projects valued between R20 million and R200 million will be advantageous.
• Proficiency in CCS Candy software is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
