Project Manager: Engineering Full Time

One of the leading mines in the industry, based in the Northern Cape is looking to expand their team and employ a Project Manager: Engineering. The successful candidate will manage and coordinate capital and improvement projects.

Responsibilities:

• Project management
• Budget, plan and execute projects
• Inter-departmental and cross-functional knowledge
• Effective influencing and persuasion skills
• Legal knowledge
• Mine Health and Safety Act; Other applicable legislation; Relevant COP’s
• SHERQ knowledge
• Risk assessments; Working knowledge of all SHERQ and related policies and procedures
• Management skills
• Plan, lead, organize and control
• Quality orientation
• Shows awareness of goals and standards; Follows through to ensure that quality and productivity standards are met
• Specialist knowledge
• Understands technical or professional aspects of work and continually maintains technical knowledge
• Problem solving and analyses
• Analyses issues and breaks them down into their component parts; Makes systematic and rational judgements based on relevant information
• Creativity and innovation
• Creates new and imaginative work-related approaches; Shows a willingness to question traditional assumptions; Apply benchmarked practices

Requirements:

• 8 – 10 years operational engineering and production experience within a mining and plant environment
• 2 – 5 years operational Team / Project leader / Supervisory experience in a project environment
• Accreditation / Registration – Registered Professional Engineer (ECSA)
• National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Engineering
• Certificate: Project Management Professional Qualification
• Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) (Recommended)
