Mechanical Engineer (Fire) – Consulting Industry Full Time

An exciting opportunity exists for a Mechanical Engineer (Fire Services) with strong fire compliance and building services experience in Cape Town

Requirements :

• BTech or BEng in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical building services.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in fire safety system design.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to take on challenging projects.
• Either professionally registered with ECSA or keen to pursue registration.
• Develop fire safety and fire compliance designs for building projects.
• Design firefighting equipment, smoke evacuation systems, stair pressurisation, and sprinkler systems.
• Apply SANS deemed-to-satisfy and rational design principles.
• Engage in thermal modelling (advantageous but not required).
• Independently manage small to medium-scale projects, or work as part of the fire design management team on larger projects.
• Professionally represent the company in client and site meetings, and during building surveys.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and general project administration.
