Junior Building Estimator – Construction Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established building contractor in Cape Town, is currently seeking to employ a qualified and hardworking Junior Estimator who can join their successful and growing team as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing accurate cost estimates
• Assisting with tender submissions
• Packaging RFQs (Request of Quotations)
• Compiling comprehensive BOQs (Bills of Quantities), as well as measuring and drawing-up of BOQs from drawings
• Attend site clarification meetings for tenders and provide feedback to Senior Management
• Following up on RFQs sent out to Sub-Contractors, ensuring that the most competitive priced quotes are received on each trade for the tender
• Build relationships with various Sub-Contractors and Suppliers to ensure the best pricing is received in the market

Requirements:

• BTech in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification in the built environment
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience working in a building contractor environment
• Proficiency in CCS Candy and MS Office essential
• Valid Driver’s License and own transport
• Excellent planning, organising, communication and interpersonal skills
• Good decision making and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritise and focus on deliverables
• A motivated self-starter who takes a proactive and solution driven approach
• Evidence of achieving deadlines in a demanding environment
