ICT Building Services Engineer (Electrical/Electronic) – Consulting Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established engineering consulting firm in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, is seeking an experienced ICT Building Services Engineer to join its growing team.

Reporting directly to the Head of ICT Services, this role is best suited to a candidate with ICT building services design experience, preferably gained within a consulting engineering environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside an experienced ICT team, contributing to the design and delivery of innovative building services solutions across a diverse range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare design reports and preliminary cost estimates.
• Design and specify ICT building services, including:
  • Fire Detection & Voice Evacuation
  • Structured Cabling & Data Networks
  • Audio Visual & Background Music
  • PABX & Communication Systems
  • Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Guest Room Management Systems (GRMS)
  • CCTV & Security Systems
  • IPTV
  • High Voltage Fencing
  • Smart Building (IoT) Solutions
• Produce coordinated drawings using AutoCAD (Revit/BIM advantageous).
• Coordinate designs with other disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Attend site meetings, conduct inspections, and assist with testing and commissioning.
• Prepare specifications, tender documentation, BOQs, and tender evaluation reports.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and client requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years’ consulting engineering experience in building services.
• Experience on hospitality, healthcare, commercial, retail, and mixed-use developments.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (Revit/BIM advantageous).
• Strong technical reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• ECSA registration (or eligibility) will be advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
