Health and Safety Officer – Fixed term contract (12months) Contract

RPO Recruitment is actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join our client’s team in Waltloo, Pretoria, on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and company policies.
• Deliver safety training and awareness programs for staff.
• Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records and reports on safety performance and compliance.
• Coordinate emergency response drills and activities.
• Advise management on safety-related issues and recommend improvements.

Requirements:

• National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding safety standards.
• Professional registration or certification with a recognized safety body is an advantage.
