Job Title: Fitter

RPO Recruitment’s client are looking for a skilled and experienced Fitter to join their team at a food manufacturing facility in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for maintaining and repairing machinery in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine maintenance on production machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime
• Repair and replace faulty parts as needed
• Collaborate with other departments to implement improvements for machinery efficiency and reliability
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Fitter in a food manufacturing environment
• Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or similar field
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime when necessary
