Environmental Officer – Mining Industry – R850k – R550k Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s Client is urgently seeking the expertise of an Environmental Officer in the Northern Cape. The successful candidate will identify, evaluate and control environmental risks that could negatively impact the environment and health of people and promote sustainable practices.

Responsibilities:

• Technical Knowledge
• Waste Management
• Monitoring of Water and dust
• Working knowledge of horticulture
• Computer Literacy
• Basic user of MS Office (MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
• SHERQ Knowledge
• Working knowledge of Legal Registry
• Related policies and procedures
• COP’s and SP’s
• Risk assessments
• Root cause analysis
• IOS system and audit knowledge
• Statutory Knowledge
• Working knowledge of environmental legislation
• Influencing and Change management skills
• Ability to influence people across disciplines against their pre-held views
• Effective change management
• Policies and Procedures
• Working knowledge of all related polices and procedures

Requirements:

• National Diploma/Degree in Environmental Management
• Certificate in Mine Rehabilitation and Closure
• 5 years operational Mine Environmental related field experience
• 3 years operational Integrated Risk Management System experience
