Engineering Manager – Metal / Steel Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment is currently working with a reputable metal manufacturing company in Johannesburg, seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join their team. As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering activities and ensuring smooth operation of the manufacturing processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, optimize production, and deliver high-quality metal products.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment
• Collaborate with production managers to optimize manufacturing processes and workflows
• Implement safety and quality standards in the manufacturing processes
• Develop and execute engineering strategies and projects to improve efficiency and productivity
• Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for engineering projects
• Analyze data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements

• BSc/B.Eng./B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 5 – 10 years’ experience in the maintenance or production environment
• Competency in computer-aided engineering design and drawing
• Hands – on working experience in a metal maintenance or manufacturing environment
• Proven project management experience
• Proven leadership experience
• A Government Certificate of Competence would be advantageous
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently

• Salary: R1 million – R850k per annum
