RPO Recruitment’s client is looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Stikland Industrial, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy machinery used in civil construction operations.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on construction machinery
Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions
Work with equipment including excavators, diggers, graders, and trucks
Conduct inspections to ensure equipment safety and reliability
Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work
Adhere to health and safety standards in all mechanical tasks
Support operational teams with technical mechanical advice
Ensure minimal downtime of machinery through preventative maintenance
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic in the civil construction industry
Strong knowledge of heavy machinery including excavators, diggers, graders, and trucks
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Relevant mechanical or trade qualification preferred
