Commercial Buyer/Representative Full Time

RPO’s client is actively seeking a driven and proactive Commercial Buyer/Representative to join their team in the Scrap Metal & Recycling industry in Prospecton, Durban. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a knack for building relationships, negotiating deals, and working hands-on in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. If you’re a self-starter who thrives on securing quality material and expanding business opportunities—this could be your next big move. This is a full-time, onsite position.

Responsibilities:

• Source and purchase various types of scrap metal from businesses, contractors, and suppliers.
• Conduct site visits to assess the quality and quantity of available materials.
• Provide accurate quotes based on current market trends and client needs.
• Negotiate pricing that ensures both competitiveness and profitability.
• Attend client meetings to discuss recycling requirements, logistics, and service options.
• Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients to ensure continued business.
• Identify new clients and actively pursue new business opportunities within the scrap metal space.
• Coordinate logistics and follow-ups to ensure smooth operations and client satisfaction.

Requirements:

• Background in sales or commercial buying (experience in any industry will be considered).
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to conduct site visits and evaluate scrap metal quality.
• A formal qualification or diploma would be advantageous.
• Self-motivated, organized, and goal-driven.
