Civil Engineer/Technologist – Consulting Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm in South Africa is currently looking to hire a qualified Civil Engineer or Technologist who can join their successful team in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town as soon as possible.  The successful candidate will form part of the company’s Civil Division and report to the Directors.  

Responsibilities:

• Design of municipal services, including the preparation of the relevant documentation
• Produce technical deliverables for the design and implementation of bulk earthworks platforms, roads, stormwater, sewer, water services
• Prepare bills of quantities and technical project specifications in line with the relevant SANS codes
• Construction monitoring during implementation stage of projects
• Prepare as-built drawings and close-out reports
• Develop innovative and cost-effective solutions to problems/challenges
• Interaction with Municipalities, Project Team and Clients

Requirements:

• BSc/BEng or BTech degree in Civil Engineering
• Eligible for or working towards professional registration with ECSA highly advantageous
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil services design (bulk earthworks, sewer, stormwater, and water networks)
• Stormwater Management Plans experience beneficial
• Proficiency in Civil Designer, AutoCAD, and MS Office
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Reliable, honest and responsible
• Self-motivated team player with the ability to work under pressure
