Civil Draughtsperson/Technician – Consulting Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, a reputable and well established multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm in South Africa is on the lookout for a skilled and qualified Civil Draughtsperson or Technician for their successful team in Cape Town.  

Responsibilities:

• Form part of an existing civil engineering design office & report to Project Leader and Design Engineer
• Drawing support to Project Leader and Design Engineers
• Preparation of design drawings and typical details to construction drawings level of detail
• Management of drawing records
• Provide AutoCAD training to junior staff
• Assisting with the developing and maintaining of office drawing standards

Requirements:

• National Diploma in Civil Engineering or relevant Draughting Certificate/Diploma
• Sound experience in draughting of civil engineering drawings for a variety of civil infrastructure, such as water, sewer, stormwater, roads, earthworks and ponds
• Minimum 6 years working experience in a design office
• Good knowledge of Local Authority & Public Works approval processes is advantageous
• Design experience in municipal services and general civil engineering works is advantageous
• Must have valid driver’s license
• Adherence to office hours and availability of overtime as and when required to meet deadlines
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office Suite
