Buyer – Cape Town Full Time

RPO Recruitment is actively seeking an experienced and dynamic Buyer to join our client’s retail team in Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional to manage product sourcing, vendor negotiations, and inventory control in a fast-paced retail environment. Responsibilities

• Develop and execute buying strategies to meet customer demand and achieve sales targets
• Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms
• Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to select and procure products
• Manage inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock
• Conduct product quality checks and resolve any issues with suppliers
• Collaborate with internal teams such as merchandising, sales, and operations to align buying decisions with business objectives
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure on-time delivery of products

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Buyer in a retail environment
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Solid understanding of inventory control and purchasing processes
• Ability to analyze market trends and forecast product demand
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Team-oriented with a results-driven mindset
