Location: Cape Town

Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Buyer to join our team. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, products, and services for our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inventory management, supply chain logistics, and vendor relations. This individual must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and source new vendors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality products/services
• Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to secure the best deals for the organization
• Maintain inventory levels to meet demand and avoid stockouts
• Monitor market trends and industry developments to make informed purchasing decisions
• Collaborate with internal teams, including production, sales, and finance, to ensure seamless operations
• Resolve any issues or disputes with vendors in a timely and professional manner
• Analyze and report on key performance indicators related to purchasing activities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Buyer or in a similar role
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to build effective vendor relationships
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and purchasing software
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Solid understanding of inventory management principles and supply chain logistics
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
