Job Title: Business Development Engineer

Location: Cape Town

Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Business Development Engineer to join our clients team. We are looking for a highly motivated Renewable Energy Sales Engineer to join a dynamic team. As a Renewable Energy Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sales opportunities for renewable energy solutions, focusing on medium to large Commercial and Industrial projects. Your main duty will be to work with internal teams and/or customers to develop optimised technical solutions for renewable energy projects

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop sales opportunities for renewable energy solutions focusing medium to large C&I
• projects
• Work with internal team and/or customers to develop a optimized technical solutions for renewable energy projects;
• Prelim technical solution design, costing and proposal write up
• Assist client contract negotiations.
• Develop sales with new and existing accounts in assigned areas to meet business targets.
• Develop competitive strategies to sales objectives and maintain knowledge of competitor activity.
• Provide input on the business plan to ensure sales sustainability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers within the industry

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years technical sales experience in renewable energy or related
• Technical understanding of solar PV, battery energy storage systems, diesel generators and electrical reticulation
• Ability to work with customers and partners on technical questions and solutions
• Ability to coordinate amongst multidisciplinary teams (both internally and externally)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and spoken.
• Ability to work well in a matrix organizational structure.
• Knowledge of project management will be advantageous
• Previous large scale solar installations knowledge will be an advantage.
• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering
